New Names

Learning people's names is not always something that's easy to do. Experts advise associating the name and face by using a sort of memory device that will trigger name recognition when needed. But even with all the tricks and gimmicks, it is still difficult to place every face with the correct name.

In February of 2001 I learned the name, Madeline, right away when I met my first grandchild. It goes without saying that she was and is a beautiful little girl with dark brown eyes, a lively smile, and an infectious giggle. I know for sure that I will never ever have trouble remembering her name.

However, It did take a bit of practice to get used to another name associated with having a grandchild and that was my new name, "Grampy," a name I've come to love as much as those who call me by it.
